At 40 tonnes we are beyond what a 35-tonne machine can do, so we carry out such work with a crane rated at 50 tonnes. That is the right choice for more than the weight alone — the 50-tonne class offers a noticeably longer boom, and at this load radius usually becomes the second constraint.

We do not operate a machine badged as 40 tonnes — we carry out such work with a crane rated at 50 tonnes. The spare capacity is not waste: capacity falls as the distance from the slewing axis grows, so a larger machine provides the margin needed to work at radius.
Every machine is hired together with an experienced operator.
